A Mission to Restore Balance in Nature
On 11th July 2024, the Atulniya Shiv Shagun Welfare Foundation (ASSWF), in collaboration with Pahadi Samaj Environmental Shield, carried out a large-scale tree plantation drive in the Jhamiriya region. This event, led by ex-servicemen, highlighted the vital role of the defence community in contributing to environmental conservation beyond their service in uniform.
A Collective Effort by Ex-Servicemen for a Greener Tomorrow
Over 200 medicinal saplings including Jamun, Amla, Harad, and Behada were planted by the team, marking a significant step toward ecological restoration in the region. The plantation aimed not only at increasing green cover but also at promoting the value of native and medicinal plant species.The initiative was part of ASSWF’s ongoing environmental campaign to combat deforestation and raise awareness about the increasing threat of forest fires and habitat destruction.

Former Major General Atul Kaushik (Retd.), Founder of ASSWF, addressed the gathering and emphasized the urgency of restoring ecological balance.
“Due to continuous deforestation and frequent forest fires, our forests and wildlife are under threat. This imbalance is alarming and calls for immediate action. Every citizen must take responsibility and actively participate in environmental protection by planting trees and preserving nature.”
